How It Works

Your build journey.
From an idea to a home of your own.

Building a minor dwelling can feel like a big step. There are questions about your property, your budget, what you can build and what needs to happen before construction can begin.

You don’t need to have all the answers.

We’ll guide you through the process, explain your options in plain English and help you understand what happens at each stage – so you can make decisions with confidence.

01 Discover

Start with what matters

Every project starts with a conversation.

We’ll talk about what you’re hoping to achieve, who the home is for and why you’re considering a minor dwelling.

Whether you’re planning a home for Mum or Dad, giving an adult child more independence, creating space for family or thinking about the future, we want to understand the reason behind your project.

We start with your goals – not a house plan.

02 Assess

Understand what’s possible.

Every property is different, so before you make big decisions, we need to understand yours.

We’ll consider your site, access, existing property, services, your needs and your budget. We’ll help identify the things that may affect what you can build and what your project could involve.

Where something needs further investigation or specialist advice, we’ll tell you.

Understand your options before you commit.

03 Design

Choose a home that fits.

Once we understand what you’re trying to achieve, we can explore the home designs that could work for you.

Choose from our range of thoughtfully designed one- and two-bedroom homes, then consider the features and options that will make the home work for the person who will live there.

From accessibility and layout to kitchens, bathrooms, heating and finishes, we’ll explain what’s included and what your options are.

A proven design, made to work for your life.

04 Consent

Work through the requirements.

There can be planning, building and site-specific requirements to consider before construction begins.

We’ll help you understand what applies to your project and guide you through the relevant process. If your project requires input from a surveyor, engineer, planner or another specialist, we’ll identify what needs to be considered.

Requirements can vary from property to property, so we won’t make assumptions.

Know what needs to happen before you build.

05 Build

Bring your home to life.

Once everything is ready, construction begins.

Our experienced building professionals bring your chosen home to life using quality materials and workmanship. We’ll keep you informed throughout the build, explain what’s happening and let you know what comes next.

You won’t be left wondering who is responsible or where things are up to.

Quality construction. Clear communication. No surprises.

06 Handover

Your home. Your next chapter.

The build is complete and the keys are yours.

Whether you’ve created a home for Mum or Dad, a first step towards independence, a place for family to stay or a flexible space for the future, this is where the reason you started the journey becomes real.

We’ll make sure you understand the handover process, the warranties that apply and who to contact if you have questions after you move in.

And then the real journey begins.
